Life Unexpected.

Two years ago we were riding home from Boston after a grueling week at Boston Childrens Hospital.  I remember the photo Carl took of Elizabeth post op, swollen face, closed shut eyes, painful.  I looked at that cell phone picture once. My eyes filled with tears. Don't ever show that to me again. I simply cannot return to that week. I got my daily phone calls from my sister in law who had just buried her husband unexpectedly days!!!  prior to check on ME.  Let that sink in for a milisecond folks.  She was calling me.  Life Unexpected had dealt us both some difficulties.

One year ago I was in a frenzy of the last week before my daughters wedding to Lucas. The engagement was in March, wedding in July. I jumped in whole heartedly, supporting my daughter, her soon to be new husband, and all the family we  would be joined with for LIFE.  I realized in that very short period of time I am an excellent organizer, planner, and have an abundant supply of wonderful people in my life.  The day, July 11, 2014 was beyond perfect. Everyone co operated, the weather co operated, we got the cake to the wedding site without a hitch, (thank you Valerie McDougal), the ceremony was beautiful.  Life Unexpected.

6 Months ago.  My girl Elizabeth and I have the most wonderous talk about Love. True Love. Happy Love. Falling In Love. We began a closeness that will solidify our mother/daughter relationship for the ages. We found common ground. Love.  Life Unexpected.  Thank you Nicholas Danby.

4 months ago.  Sitting in the back room watching Big Bang, Kristen and Lucas arrive.  I can always tell when Lucas wants to tell me something. Its that Mother thing.  I'm looking at him thinking, okay, buddy, What Is Up.  I was getting nervous just watching them.  WEll, here's the thing.... Kristen is pregnant.  OH MY GOODNESS!!! Life Unexpected.  Baby girl Rachel Hope scheduled to appear on November 20th, 2015.

Yesterday.  I was walking around Broadway Park. I seriously don't know if its hormones, that dreaded getting older phase, or I am becoming so in tune with the Universe around me, but I felt heavy hearted. At one point the anxiety was so great, and I began to pray. And finally its like that inner voice, God, says, You know, I have already told you life will be brilliant. I will allow you to feel worry, be anxious, and you can do that for the next 9 months, a year, 10 years. Its your choice, but at some point, I want your trust. But, that is up to you.

Life will continue to bring me
Unexpected
Joy
Sadness
Love
Kindness
Anger

Life is Not Predictable.

Who knew Thayle would die, Elizabeth would have surgery, Kristen would get married, My girls would fall in love, I am going to be a Gram?  Not me.  Life Unexpected.

So today, I will accept Life Unexpected.

I will embrace the UnExpected.

Thank You Lord ahead of time.

Trusting Today.

Blessed in my Unexpected Nest.
